Which is the test of choice to determine whether the H. pylori has been eradicated (after antitbiotics and PPI) ?? How many time may the antibodies be positive after eradication of the infection by H. pylori?

Urea breath testing is the test of choice to confirm eradication of infection. Stool antigen testing is an alternative when urea breath testing is not readily available, but it may be less accurate. Conversion of positive serology to negative after treatment suggests bacterial cure. Seroconversion from detectable to undetectable levels at 18 months after therapy had a sensitivity and specificity of 60 percent and 100 percent, respectively, for detecting the eradication of infection.
