we all know of a lot of factors which the PDs take into account... but does our performance in med school matter... ie the scores in exams during undergraduate yrs , or the class rankings in med school...??

I can tell you that for my Indian transcript, no one knew what to make of it. They just tend to ignore IMG scores in favor of USMLE scores. If you gold medaled or something, I'm sure that would help (if you tell them what that means).

Ya retro is right, they dont have much idea about our CVs and scores. One doc asked me if my school was federal or state. He didnt have any idea about the difficulty of PMET exams either. Another was surprised when I said we have a Thallasemia day at our hospital cus its quite pravalent in northern india and she had no idea about it. Than another one almost had a fit when i told him that there are lot of unqualified/uncertified/unlicensed people praticing medicine (quacks) in India. but than its not there fault either even we dont know lot of things about the system here.

Transcripts from all the schools in India look so different - every school has a different system it seems. And the undergrad stuff - I don't think that we even see it any longer. Class ranking would be the most important thing of the pieces that you mentioned......
