actually in a pt. with PID when u touch the cervix it causes the patient a lot of pain, due to all that inflamation, and the patient jumps towards the ceiling ...towards the chandelier!!!!!.... thus chandelier sign!

i believe that the chandelier is the cervix "attached to the ceiling" of vagina

nope...ayeshah is correct. its because of pain...the patient jumps on to the chandelier.
