This is what i know about Randomized Controlled Clinical Trial (RCT):

The subjects are randomly allocated into "intervention" and "control" groups to receive or not receive an experimental preventive or therapeutic procedure or intervention.

Double Blind RCT study that is least subject to BIAS, but the most expensive to conduct.

Double blind means that neither subjects nor researchers know whether the subjects are in the treatment or comparison group.

I have not encountered positive control specifically.
