finally...gave exam yesterday at atlanta. let me say what everyone says proctors were nice, patients were helpful and nice......centre was nice......food too was good one third examinees were IMGs i thought. accent was not a problem for me except for 2 patients time was a problem.for many of the cases......and for one patient note i will urge everyone to first write the DD,then investigations, and finally PE and then history....cos history is the longest ....sometimes you can get carried away and end up with little time for other things. greet them well, smile, use their name, make small talk,if appropriate, ask fr permission, wash hands, summarize ,smile, say thanks after examination,be empatheitc, and in the end counsel. close it nicely.i did these in all .....but i did forget some imporatant things in examintaion for some of them and most imporatnt, dont think about the last one before the next one!!!! take more time outside thinking about the DD after you read the pt note.....that way you know what to ask.if you want make a small note of what you want to examine specifically. lastly, read the 40 cases from this site ,they are very helpful. i used UW,read kaplan material ,practised for a week with an inteliigent SP who would give me good feedback(my hubby :nod thats all now the looooooong wait for result good luck to all

Hey!! THanx for ur info...it was very very helpful. I have one question...My husband tells me we have some time at the door (where the patient's name, and complaint is written) before we go inside to see the SP...is that true? Is there enough time to write a few DD's down b/f going inside? If so, then that would help a bunch right?

guys were wearing formal shirt with trosers and tie.girls were wearing formal trousers with a top.one girl were wearing a skirt too anyway most of your dress is covered by apron the time that you take to read the note outside is deducted form your 15 mins .so its your judgement what to do with your time . i spent at least 1 min thinking about possible dd s and writing pam hugs foss.....also writing down what specific things to examine.....just abbreviations.. good luck
