Shall we just ask some nonspecific questions such as "Is your kid developing normally in terms of height, weight and language?" or mention some developmental milestones? Please advise. Thanks a lot!

You need to first ask " when was your child's recent check-up?", then ask whether child's height, weight, vision, hearing and developmental milestones were normal ( at the time of check-up).
