Can somebody explain to me briefly difference between Cathegorical and Preliminary positions for GS residency?And what does PGY-1 and PGY -2 mean? books mention it..but do not explain, I am IMG.
I guess Preliminary is for shorter period of time,when I am intending to specialize in some other surgical area...is that correct? 
If I wanna specialize ..what is better then..enter Cathegorical or Preliminary Residency position?
what are chances for IMG female to get into GS ? I passed all Steps first time,87/90/passed.
