The following, is the message I get when trying to reapply:
Our records indicate that you are already registered for this Step. You may not apply for a Step if you are already registered for that Step. If you fail a Step, you may submit another application for this exam, but certain time limits apply for retaking a Step. For complete information, refer to Reexamination and Reapplication in the ECFMG Information Booklet and Time Limit and Number of Attempts Allowed to Complete All Steps in the USMLE Bulletin of Information

I don´t know other students that have tried in the given circumstances... but there´s a few in this forum. Try reading the first page of posts. I went for it even without my status being posted on OASIS because I read about the experience of some people who did it regardless.

I took my exam 2 weeks ago and after reading this post I tried it and I got this mesage "Our records indicate that you are already registered for this Step. You may not apply for a Step if you are already registered for that Step. If you fail a Step, you may submit another application for this exam, but certain time limits apply for retaking a Step. For complete information, refer to Reexamination and Reapplication in the ECFMG Information Booklet and Time Limit and Number of Attempts Allowed to Complete All Steps in the USMLE Bulletin of Information." What does this mean?? Does this really work? My score hasn't been reported to OASIS yet. Help!!

If your score is reported and couldn't apply again for the same exam there is only one "problem" - you are very likely to pass that exam!Congrats!

Hi, I am an Iranian physician preparing for ECFMG certifcation. I sat for the usmle step 2 exam and knew from ecfmg that Iranian accounts are blocked and those who registered with a contact address in Iran won't receive their scores and that ecfmg is not in position ( for the moment) to give any services to Iranians. Ecfmg sent me a letter in which they acclaim that they can not release my step 2 scores. Does anyone have the same problem? What could we do about it? Couldn't we send any messages for any humanitarian organizations about this obvious discremination?

This is to the iranian doctor: you should complain. Do you have any family living in US. Maybe you could use there address to have your results sent there. you can go online to oasis and have your address changed. I am also middle eastern -- i understand what you ar going through. but sometimes you got to work around the system. you can also find out if you passed by using oasis.

implus - - 09/17/03 14:53 Please find the email of ecfmg on the subject of 'ecfmg accounts "on hold" for Iranians' as follows: (Once again,I should say that they don't accept to change the contact addresses of those who first had their contact addresses in Iran. For your information,it should be mentioned that our "OASIS" service is blocked.) August 20, 2003 Dear Doctor: The Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG®) is currently reviewing the possible impact of certain United States federal regulations on ECFMG’s ability to provide services to you. These services include, but may not be limited to, registering you for an examination, sending you a scheduling permit, sending you a score report and providing you with an Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) token. ECFMG is working diligently to complete its review as quickly as possible. ECFMG will contact you immediately after the review is completed. Thank you for your patience in this matter. Sincerely, ECFMG

I took step 1 4 wks ago and this is the message I got by using the trick. Doese it really mean I passed it? It is different from what somebody posted. Please share your experience. Thanks. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- --- Our records indicate that you have already passed this Step or the equivalent NBME® Part. The USMLE Policy on Reexamination generally does not allow applicants to retake a Step examination if they have already passed that Step or the equivalent NBME Part. There are, however, certain exceptions to this policy: ------------------------------------------------------------------------- -----

My score has not been reported yet and took the exam on August 26. When I try to apply I get a red message telling me that I have already registered for the examination. Has anyone in the same situation know anything about this?
