ALS involves both LMN and UMNs. why patient presents with bilateral flaccid paralysis of upper limbs and bilateral spastic paralysis of lower limbs.

plz explain thanks

flaccid paralysis at the level of the lesion [LMN] and spastic paralysis below the level of ythe lesion [UMN]

because Lou Gehrig's disease mostly involves the cervical region therefor eth classic history wud be hypotonia in upper limbs and hypertonia in loer limbs!
