Hi everyone,
After a long long vacation I am back to my desk again. Have signed up for Kaplan step 2 CK center prep 30 visits program. Took the diagnostic exam yesterday and got 65%. My current strategy is to watch videos for one day, then read corresponding stuff in notes, then videos again... (When I did step 1 center prep, I didn't read books after watching the videos, I think this is no good) Hopefully I can finish all the videos within 30 visits. Also signed up for Qreview that has Qbank and Internal Medicine Qbank. Will have 6 months access to it. I think USMLEworld is perhaps more important, will see how to fit in that resource. Over all, I plan to read kaplan notes, watch videos, do Kaplan Qreview,Qbook and USMLEworld. Do NBME for self assessment at certain time point. What do you all think?
I want to catch 2006 match, so looks like I should take the exam as soon as I am ready. Will try work hard on that. Good luck everyone!!

Took my first day of center prep at kaplan this past Sunday. Watched all gastroenterology tapes. (6hours total) Need to plan on how to use my 30 visits wisely and how to fit in doing Qs etc.

hi. are lectures neccessary adjunct to notes or can notes suffice alone? please help. confused bout how to proceed.exam in early aug.

hey ,
wats up wombat? gave my step1 10 days back and waiting for the scores. nevertheless i am goin to start prep for step2 cause even if i fail i do not have the patience to go thro the material once again.
i have started as of now with boards and wards and crush the boards. plannin to joi kaplan from the 20th once i reach U.S.

Thanks drkpp and berk. Please excuse my very late reply. Hey mich I guess you are probably done with your exam now. Hope you get what you want.
So far I have watched kaplan videos once, read kaplan notes once. Still have 2000Qs left from Qbank and UW, haven't touched Qbook yet. Took NBME form 1 the day before and got 670. Exam in early Oct, hope to finish all the Qs and read kaplan notes twice before the big day.
I have been feeling quite stressful because I want to make it to 2006 match. While studying for step 2 CK, I need to work on my application too which takes a lot time. Anyway I guess many people are doing the same thing too. Good luck to all of us.

i am sure you will do just great with that kind of prep and a nbme score of 670.
trying to repeat your step1 feat ha..
i am still watching kap videos and doin i.m. kap qbank. yet to start usw and kap qbank and exam on the 20th oct.
i know will have to hurry if i have to make it to this years match...
did u start working on your application? how far have u reached?

m an img n mprep for step2 too but lookin at how much u guys have finished i guess i lag behind was ill n so lost quite a few days i also wanna match for 2006 n appl n studies r too much at the same time have still not finished one rdin of kaplan got to do all qs too my exam is on 21st oct u think ill be able to comp
n wombat n drkpp do u guys have a list of univs to apply to i wanna apply for im n am really confused as to which univs to apply to lemme kno how far u guys have reached as far as appl go
n also if i postpone my exam to 1st nov will i lag behind for the match?

For my case kaplan video courses helped a lot in terms of speeding my going over all stuff once. I watched all videos (160 hr) within 25 visits to the center. I know it's hard but I guess there is no way around. Just keep reading and doing Qs. I haven't applied yet, but I will apply for programs in my place since my husband has a job here. As for exam date, I would judge by NBME self assessment score to make a decision. Good luck.

I was reading through your step1 exam exp . You are really rock . your NBME REGARDING STEP2 IS AMAZINGGGGGGGGG !!!!! it is really unusual to score 670 after 2 months of studying for usmel . wish you all the best .
I am just wondering about your back ground ..I know that you are an old gradaute but were you one of the top ten in your class ? do you have a good and strong medical back ground so you got 99 and scored 670 Nbme in STEP2 ?
or it is simply about hard work even if the person does not have a good back ground ?

Count me in your group too.I am just starting for step2 ck...impressed by your score in step1 ...also have same study plan as yours for step2ck....center prep 30 visits program ! I will buy qbank at the end though or you suggest 6 months access to qreview+int. med qbank?
How are you doing these days?When is your test date?
