What happens to ANP in volume overloaded states.Kaplan says it is decreased.

My doubt is when there is volume overloaded state the atrium will be enlarged and should increase in ANP.Please clarify my doubt.

I wouls say the same as you. ANP is a hormone that lowers blood pressure. If there is much water, atrial stretch will increase ANP production which will then lower bp and blood volume.

Hi, where in Kaplan says that ANP is decrease in overload state? My book says: “ ANP secretion increases in weightlessness….” Which means that is truth saying that ANP secretion increases in volume overload…like you guys say , nowhere is saying that is decrease…hope this help, just let me know if your book has a mistake…..thanks
