I´m an IMG. Graduated in 2003. Passed the step 1 in april. Have both components of Step 2 programed for august. Need a H1 visa. So I must clear the STEP 3 before december. The REGISTRATION DEADLINE for Step 3 is in September 1 2005. Its it possible to register for the Step 3 before having my ECFMG certificate issued, in oder to meet the deadline? Or will I have to wait until 2006 to do the Step 3? Any info greatly aprreciated!

Hi hypercool;
You have to complete and pass Step 2 and then get your ECFMG certification before you can register to take Step 3. If you try to register with a fake date, they will cancel your registration. They confirm ECFMG certification and your school documents before they let you schedule Step 3. Sorry.

Ok, so I am not clear what you mean by the "registration deadline" for Step 3. I am guessing, if you want them to assign you the next 90 day period which falls before end of 2005, you need to apply by September. You could still apply for it as late as November and get a testing period that runs from Dec. 2005 through to end of Feb 2006 and take the exam early dec 2005 and have your result by the end of the year. Tell me if I am missing something here.
