hi, how much does being ecfmg certified help when one applies for residencies? and whats the latest date by when one should apply to residencies to get a decent no of interview calls?

it helps for some programs. apply as early as you can. latest I would say is early Oct.

thanks to both of u. am planning to give cs on july 16 and ck on sep 7. so i am fine with these right wrt early oct as u said. if u suggest preponing my CK date, that will mean giving CS later (thus no ECFMG cert) as otherwise it will leave too short a time for preparation for CK.
