Hello Sobia, Goljan notes are good ONLY AS A SUPPLEMENT. I went through the 36 page , found the small print a big problem. So read it if u have time.

Hello Dr.ss, As for u r concened , I dont think you should take kaplan course if you have done your mbbbs ok. As of now try to gain as much as clinical perspective from your house surgeoncy. I think you can easily make through. You need to write step 1 by april 2006, which means start studying now itself. Try to read CMDT + Chapters like Inborn errors from OP Ghai now itself as these all are tested in step 1. s for biochem I would suggest read kaplan notes + suppplement it with the book u read in first year, I am not sure whether it is worth reading freshly from lippincott. As for pharmac read kaplan notes and supplement it from tripathi, you will do very well. Buy only pretest behav science, rest all are useless. AND finally for a fresh IMG I feel the exam will be much less a strain than it was for me.

Hello 99Doc, In BSS CDS I used to mix all subjects and do 30 questions per day, I used to get around 60 - 70 % in it depending on what subjects were in it. I found neuroanatomy in it very difficult. best of luck for ur exam

Hello Claydius and Docash, The website Tintin is referribg to is my personal site , the link is on my profile , there is nothing in it for usmle exam takers. As for Docash, I am can of course try to help you select the books if you need to. I still think the subject you need to master is pathology ,as it will make a big difference. AND for all those who are taking the exam at a leisurly pace my advice is to read CMDT 2005 (atlest inportant topics). Some of the tough q's of step 1 were in it.

Hello Docash, For Pathology use must read BRS pathology + First aid for the minimum. If you have time read topics like myocardial enzymes / histology ;apoptosis and other high yield topics from Big Robbins. Go through all tables and pictures of Big Robbins if ime permits. Do web path atleast the most important pictures. I am not very happy with kaplan patho. As for black well clinical vignettes, i have not seen the book, but if it contains clinical scenarios may be it could be useful. BUT as i have already mentioned most of the questions were medicine / peds / surgey material , so if you are ok with these subjects patho will not be a problem.

hello Dr SS, You can borrow the kaplan notes from some one who has gone to the classes, I think the kaplan people also sell them for around 10,000 Indian rupees. NO do not waste time with harrison. We need to clear only step 1 for applying for thw match. Hello docash best of luck for your exams , if you have a broadband intenet connection the ct / mri given at the link below are useful. http://www.med.harvard.edu/AANLIB/cases/caseM/cas... BEST OF LUCK TO ALL
