hi.i have been in and out for a while i don know wheather this is the right place to be asking this question.please excuse me.i want to do research during residency like clinical trial and i dont have any previous experience in this whatsoever. So i bought two books and am studying them so i can atleast tell the pd that i know something about what i am interested in.is there anything else i can do regarding this because into the time constraints i have it would be impossible to do any kind of research now.or can i leave it at that?

leave it at that. PD's won't ask too much about your future research plans. More broad questions like what do you want to do? Fellowship? Academics? A general idea of your area of interest should be enough. It would be best to try and do reseach now, before your residency, but it only helps your application. It certainly is not a must. Most IMGs have not done any kind of substantive research
