I am now going through the checklists for headaches, Greetings, introduction, LIQORAAA plus progression, vision, speech, weakness and numbness, fever and chills, stiff neck, nausea and vomit, you might need to ask more if some yes..... Transtion to PAM, GI, Urinary, FOSS, same if yes, go into depth. Transition, wash hand, physical, eyes, sinuses, neck, heart and lung(auscul), CNs. 2-12, muscle strength, sensations, and reflexes. Conclusions, DD, tests, conselings, if SP got some risk factors. I checked my watch, it is well over 15 min. even if I am very fluent and SP is very cooperative and just replied with simple answers. Can anybody tell me how you could finish cases like this within 15 min. Everybody with post-test experiences or practice experiences are welcome to talk about this.

Honestly, it was a problem for me. Anything that requires a CNS exam is a race against time. Only do pertinent history. Don't do a complete physical exam. Remember, there are not too many positive findings (although neruo is something where they can fake it) so just go through the motions on the neuro exam. Don't waste time trying to get a correct finding. Personally, I basically ran out of time for my end of session counseling when I had neuro patients. So I started talking to them while examining. Not the best thing to do, but it gets everythig in there.

I just wonder that we might ask too many if we follow whichever books, but the things are that no one know exactly what are the true checklists, I do not think they(USMLE) will put case with the tasks that no one can complish. I am afraid if this is the first SP I am going to meet, definitely it will frustrate me a lot and affect my performance in the flollowing ones. Thank you, retroviridae, I read some very helpful posts from you.
