Hello everyone!

I have a doubt, I read about someone getting this Q. But was not sure about the answer. Maybee someone here will know.

What if you discovered that your six y/o pt is smoking cigg, what do you do?

since in this case parents have a right to decide, call the parents along.find out where he got this habit from, try to find about the people he interacts with, whether he has a smoking parent?how long he has been smoking?

try to tell the parents about the side effects,it might be that the child has not as yet developed dependence,so simply making the child aware that it is going to harm him will help.making the cigaretes nonavailable, asking the parents to avoid smoking in front of child&keeping it out of reach.

if due to some reason the parents are not willing to cooperate, then u can't do anything as court order to treat achild can be obtained only in case of emergencies&this is not an emergency.cool
