Hey nashua,

Dont worry everything will work out.Take one step at a time,I was going through a similar mind state bcoz I got 82 on step1,I thought it was the end and was gonna give up but my friends helped me out.Even though you might think that you screwed you, just remember there is no use crying over spilled milk and whatever happens it would be for the good.Have faith, and give it your 100% this time.Look straight at your goal dont look back there is no time for that.

Further more being a Permanent resident is a plus point on your application bcoz not all programs give visas,so you can apply to even these programs. Also since you are going for IM or FP,you have already eliminated the highly competetive branches which focus on the score. So friend you do have a very good chance of getting matched.I know people who have and so it doesnt bother me anymore and neither should that bother you.Good Lucksmiling face

I also know tons of people that got residency after getting both low scores on their steps. Family practice should definately not be a prob. To improve ur chances, try to do an observership...many people (including my husband) have done observerships...where u follow a doctor around without pay...and the doctor's Letter of Recomendation will be a plus. THis u can do by asking around...even ur own doctor, or ur spouse's doctor. Good Luck!

I just heard about several of my classmates with low scores and previous fail attempts, matching, but mostly during the post-match scramble.

My RX would be to apply as broad as possible in terms of number of programs and specialties. It does get expensive, but consider it an investment. This investment pays back big time.
