Prophylaxis for rabies: Vaccination for travellers with a foreseeable significant risk of exposure to rabies or travelling to a hyperendemic area where modern rabies vaccine may not be available...otherwise vaccination is post exposure... For the 2nd: i am not sure when...When avaible?Or depending on the vaccine used :?:

1)when is rabies prophylaxis given to a traveller? pts travelling to areas where rabies is common among domesticated animals (India, Asia,Mexico) thats according to kaplan although i dont know y would they list India separate from Asia 2) chloroquine can blunt the response to intradermal form of rabies vaccine so pts who require malaria px the IM form should be used Rabies vaccine is not considered a routine vaccine for most travellers
