Doing allright kaira...thankyou!
been erratic in posting...yet again...*sigh*...ok so am continuing with pathology...listening to goljan lectures...and its taking sooo much time...plus have set a goal of 50 ques from Q bank everyday...doing them subject wise...not random as yet!...today wasn't that great...something came up....and couldn't get down to studying till late afternoon...and havent been able to do much...just read through the resp system...did about 25 q from Q bank cos was short of time...but oh well...shall make up for it in the days to come...am just not being able to do as much as i want to...like i haven't been able to review first aid for quite a few days now...it bothers me...but i guess i am doing the best i can...a'rite then...till tomorrow

today was better...did about 75 q from Q bank in the morning...read through the expl....read through skin from BRS...listened to goljan lectures on skin and the musculoskeletal system..trying my best to be done with pathology by the end of this month...hope it works out that way!!

Thankyou Kaira...well i am still trying to get done with pathology...probably be done by tomorrow!!...i am still sooo unsure about CNS though...have read through BRS...heard Dr. Goljan...but somehow...i still mess up...big time!!!...this definitely is one area which needs major improvement...these past few days i had been doing blocks of 50 q...and was doing pretty ok...till today...i ended up with a block in which there were ten questions from CNS...and out of those i managed to get only 2 right...of course there were a few in there for which i could kick my self...hopefully going through the explainations will help!!!...nonetheless,pathology by far is my strongest subject...i think of pharma and micro...and i just shake my head...there have been quite a few days lately where i feel real low...and just fed up!....but then i think that this won't do at all...oh well...better get back to work...till later

am almost done with path...almost!...still have little bits and pieces here and there to finish off...was supposed to be done by today...but i am now in two minds whether to start off with biochem tom...or give one more day to patho...have explainations to read through from Q bank...hmmm...i think i probably will finish off whats left tom...and then move on..ciao

Hi Cyra, good progress! I think either way is fine regarding doing questions but I kind of personally prefer the first one...read, do questions and complete one subject and then go on to another one (we like to have that kind of accomplishment feeling ^-^). As for the biochemistry, I like Kaplan's one. But if you insist using Lippincott's, use their diagrams....they look simply and clear-cut. Hope this helps

Thankyou Cali!!!I actually did end up giving one more day to finishing questions and strengthening areas which i though needed some work...am using kaplan's biochemistry...and it indeed is a wonderful book!!...have started with genetics..but just haven't got down to studying as yet today... figured i needed some time off...these past few days have been weird and not very productive...i have had to push my self to study...and i definitely have ended up wasting a lot of time aimlessly...but i think i am getting back on track...thanx for all the advice..i look forward to hearing from you on a regualr basis... ...ciao

Hi Cyra, I did not notice that you have had five pages' diary...My last letter was answering the last note on your first page. sorry about this <8P>.
After long hours work for a while, I also feel tired and found it a bit hard to have an efficient study...but this is not my first time to feel this way...so I have been learning to take it easy (have some longer breaks) and just do as much as I can to let this "low waves" go. You will be great very soon, Cyra, I am sure!

awww kaira...i just posted in your journal...don't be upset...i am anything but on track kaira...i want to do so much but even after trying very hard i am not satisfied at the end of the day....but have come to terms with it...i am not going to kill myself over this...sure it is THE most important thing for us right now...but i think we should not be overcome by the magnitude of it....if nothing else...we should actually try and enjoy this experience...it sounds weird...i know!!....so here is to trying our level best and hoping and praying that God helps us all in getting through this...
have taken a beak this weekend...just had too!!......and it has been wonderful...shall get back to the books tomorrow and continue with genetics...till then...

LisaM......i am extremely happy!!!!you were always in my prayers through out this entire time!!!...although just once i actually thought...what if you didn't give the exam??....but i just knew you had to have given and...well!!!...here you are!!!I am doing ok...get these low days a bit too often now...and tend to lose confidence...but am trying to stay on top of things!!...remember me in your prayers please...i need all the prayers i can get...and do stay in touch!!
UNET...i am not sure about kaplan notes as i have used BRS path...goljan audio is amazing...i suggest you definitely get a hold of the lectures...listen to them with your second read...it helps a lot!haven't gone through BSS so can't really comment on it...kaplan's Qbook and Q bank is obviously essential...good luck!
am on to mol biology...started with it today...shall be done by tom....Q bank has been on hold for about two days now...should be more regular if i am to finish it off soon!...

Biochemistry is almost coming to an end...and am pretty happy cos it seems to be sinking in and i feel i am actually retaining stuff!!.....shall get down to doing questions tonight..plan on starting with microbiology next...

Its been a while!!...just lost the motivation to post some where down the line...hopefully won't have another lapse....
The low down...applied for the exam....got the permit...scheduled the exam for dec...*eek*
Am about to finish with my second read and Q bank....almost...am left with a couple of things from immuno...BS and embryology...hopefully should be done in a couple of days...

Cyra! Good to see you again. I was wondering what you have been upto. Wow, you have got your exam shceduled for December. Thats the same time I am planning to give step two. I dont know if that is going to work though. Winter is almost upon us, and Poosh has had two bouts of croup already. She is sick right now and her dad has taken leave to be with her so I can come to the library and study. My heart is at home, but I am trying to atleast make it worthwhile of my husband's time and my baby's suffering.
All the best with your studies!
PS: Sorry for the depressing post.

Thanks LisaM....and your post isn't depressing at all...its all good...Hope poosh is feeling better...I really want to get this over and done with in december...and i am sure you do too...and i KNOW you will!!!....It must be difficult having to leave poosh....sort of like reliving step 1 right?...but now you know that time just flies by and one does get rewarded...study hard LisaM...you are going to do great!!
Got done with biostats....shall start BS some time later today...am almost done with Q bank...but i do feel the need to go through the explainations of at least the questions i missed once again....it gets difficult though...barely end up going through 50 q a day...and some days i just can't get myself down to it...but oh well!...hope it all works out fine...

Hi Cyra, it is indeed a good idea to go through explanations for questions that you got wrong or marked for reference.
Indeed, it feels like pre step one experience with poosh. I am so thankful for your encouragement in the days before my exam. I was quite a mess actually. Passing step one has given me confidence that I can do this and I really want to do better for step two. Lets see.
Do you know if Kaira has given step one yet?

Lisa...no idea about kaira...miss having her around though...last i knew she was thinking of taking the exam soemtime in dec...have just been plain lazy and not been in touch....you are right about feeling more confident....going through one exam makes one realise that it after all is "just an exam"...although i tend to lose this frame of mind ever so often....came across the most amazing thing today...the gist of it was that if we let pessimism take hold of our minds and start living our lives fearing the worst....the odds are that the worst WILL end up happening...so from today on...lets just make sure we dont let our minds wander....and have enough faith to expect the very best...no matter what the circumstances!...
Am struggling with finishing Behavioural science...hopefully will gain some momentum and finish it off soon....got busy with family over the weekend....so could not really get things done...better be off..
