How excercise inc: glucose uptake by skeletal muscles without effect of insulin????

I don't know exactly. They say that the membrane of the muscle cell becomes more permeable for glucose during excersice, and that is why people with diabetes mellitus should walk and be active in order to decrease their blood glucose.

Excercise translocate GLUT-4 to CM by 5-cAMP kinase....inc: glucose entry... This effect is also inc: by epinephrine....

hmmmmm what are the factors tht regulate this 5-cAMP kinase......is it related to AMP levels.....as they regulate glycogenolysis as well! btw tht's a nice info

Thanks for the info SDK! And did you know that epinephrine and norepinephrine can increase calcium concentration in cytoplasm of skeletal muscle cell by way of releasing it from SR and so increase the strength of muscular contraction? That is why during "fight or flight" reaction (acute stress response) skeletal muscles have increased contractility.
