well just to add a littl;e bit although oxytocin receptors are prsent in the uterine myometrium, but physiologically this has very littel if any role to play during parturition, but it has great therapuetic advantages!
while using oxytocin to promote labor fluid infusion should be kept in control as it has two complcations : 1)uterine hyperstimulation 2)water intoxication!
