Hi , can anyone tell me how to perform the tests- rovings, oburator, psoas thanks..

tell px what u are abt to do may make him uncomfortable.put px in supine position, then ask px to lie on left lateral position.then flex the hip and the knee.while in this position try to extend the knee.if there is any pain then the psoa s sign is positive. the obturator sign is very similar but the px shld be in supine position.Then flex the hip and the knee.Then try to rotate the knee internally.I fthere is any pain then the sign is positive.

Thanks a lot , Aranmolate how about rovings , is it ok if we do only these 2 tests for peritonal inflammation ?

Rovsing's is when you elicit a right lower quadrant pain when you palpate the left lower quadrant of the abdomen. All these are tests for peritonitis.
