hi reet...welcome to the diary land...........
biochem is scary.....bt if u doo it right i thnk u cn gain a bit confidence.......ths is wht i did....1st listened to kaplan lect....thy r gr8 it helps u understnd fast....thn read kaplan notes...i thnk they r the best set of notes kaplan has......and finally fa......i did q book, bt only one part of the questions.....
my 1st read ws all randowm wise...i mean i used to study fr 2days thn one day off soo dnt knw exactly.........bt i thnk the whole 1st read took me a bit more thn 3 months.......
just do the kaplan notes and fa in biochem and u will be good......if u hav any problems undersdng thn read lippincott bt cm back to kaplan again..........

yest ws good .....had gne to the library and had solid 7 hrs of reading.........bt at the last moment i changed my mind frm neuro and did gross hy.....2day in the morning will finish its fa and thn will switch to histo and will start neuro later in the day......
hoping to finish some qs frm pretest as well........

Kaira...you are doing really well!!...i personally believe that any time of reading at the library is equivalent to that time plus at least 2 more hours at home!!!... ....good stuff kaira...remember me in your prayers...am onto pharmacology..and it really is horrible...anyways...you take care...

hw true cyra.....study in library makes wonders...........
yest i finished histo.....read frm high yield as well bt made a decision to stick to kaplan as thy r really good.......tried solving pre test fr histo and it ws a disaster.......soo many many qs i ws unable to solve.....i had never heard or read of such topics before....maybe thy were too much in detail.....ws loosing my confidence and finally decided to shut it down...
2days goal ...neuro

Kaira...can't really comment on the histo bit...havent gone through it as yet...kaplan seems good enough...or so it seems from all the posts i have read...have you seen the size of high yield histo?...hmm..frankyl speaking...i donot want to spend that much time on it...just make little notes on stuff whcih was completely new...or annotate first aid with it...you will be fine.Hope you breeze through neuroanatomy!!

its been ages tht i havent posted.......had to shift my apt real quick...the same building bt a higher floor and thn the new internet connection and all.......it took more time thn i anticipated....wasted many days in all ths.....
bt managed to finish anatomy.....little bss solving is reamaning..........overall score 45-55%.....nt an amazing score...bt i moved on to pharmac....3days of pharmac and i hav nt yet finisehd reading ....so 2day plan to finish my reading frm kaplan....
just to rembember some imp drugs...found out a way...its pretty funny bt works fr me ......
www.mediglyphics.com ths is a site where thy hav funny little diagrams which help u rembember..........some plates r good some not....bt overall its good
2days goal..........finish the remaning topics which r kidney,cvs and cns....

it keeps me gng too whn u post cyra.....its a nice feeling tht there is someone like me out there 2 fighting to beat the monsterous usmle
finished wth pharmac and solving q book wth 68-70% as well....
finished 200 questions frm bss bt gt to read its explation yet...2day will try to finish thm and start another more questions.......50-55% again on bss....
wonder why i gt a low score on bss???
hoping to do a better in the next 200 set of questions....
so here i goo

don't worry about BSS though...i have heard lots of people complain about scoring low on it...check in the exam score thread as well and you'd find out for yourself...take it as a learning tool....i still haven't got hold of BSS....although i think i might get it by next week hoefully...although i ma not sure whether i shall have time to go through it...cos just reading and doing Q bank takes a lot of time as it is....hmm..i dunno...what do u say?...like if i just go through Bss just randomly here and there after i am done with Q bank...how would that work out?hope you got great scores today!!

will do exactly as u said cyra....will treat bss more as a learning tool....maybe dng ths it will put a bit of pressure off my back
didnt finish the whole of bss fr phrarmac...still 200 qs remaning ...bt i moved on as i ws getng too tired abt it....
started physo yest and managed to finish endo and little kidney....and 2day didnt study anythng fr the whole evening as i had gne to watch a movie...and now feeling guilty abt it...soo will try to catch up wth the remaning kidney before gng to bed....
promised myself to start solving 50qs frm bss everyday ....
soo i better goo and start kidney before i feel sleepy

Great going kaira!!i didn't find renal physiology that hard this time round...hey...if i rem correctly you are using BRS physiology rite?...do you have kaplan physiology?...cos then edn of chapter questions are pretty good in there...esp renal and CVS...lemme know if you don't...

yeah ur right....i had read kaplan physio in my 1st read ...bt my hubby told me u wthout brs dnt dream abt giving the exam.......and so ths time i shift my gears to brs...and i liked it...many questions in my mind were solved...soo now im mixing both the books and studying ....
soo now i hav the kaplan notes.......and thnx for the concern cyra
its taking me time to read both books and thts why cudnt solve any questions 2day....hoping to do it 2mrw....
2day finished the remaning kidney and lungs....qs are yet remaning frm brs as well as kaplan.....bt im dam tired 2day...soo will push it fr 2mrw
hoping fr a more productive day 2mrw

Kaira...even if you leave out the end of chapter questions from BRS....its ok...they are all pretty easy..just facts !...you have to do the ones from kaplan though...i'd suggest concentrating on them for the time being...

well...its been a long time i havnet posted.....just nothng to write as i hardly studied anythng..just didnt feel like....ws dng physio one of my fav subject ....even tht didnt help me motivate to do more...
ws too depressed wth the way i ws progressing........even after my 1st read i hardly used to gt any questions right.....making mistakes in simple questions.......and ws way behind my schedule.....everythng made me too nervous and less motivated.............
december my last month of the slot...gt to finish by thn or i thnk i will never be able to do it..........
yest atlast sat and made my last and final time table .........if i dnt go wth it im doomed........
12 weeks to go fr my reading and solving bss.........it ws taking me ages to finish it .....soo im giving it more time ..a more realistic time.........
ths week will be dne wth physio along wth fa and bss.....did physio frm brs...im almost dne memorizing the half of it....i thnk thts the only way out fr me thn just understnding.....
and no wasting any more weekends...which i always did....soo ths weekend the goal of completing cvs is dne....will be dng 50qs everyday in the night...
2mrw will attack respi........

Heyy Kaira...you had me a bit worried cos you had not posted in a while now...but its ok...i know how it is...one doesn't feel like posting when you are not on track...i thought it was just me...but i guess it happens to everyone...getting frustrated with all this studying is only natural...i had my share these past few days...and trust me it was horrible..it was like i couldn't even take breaks without feeling guilty!!!...and that messed things up even more..so this weekend i decided to take time off...in the true sense of the word "time off"...it felt great!!!i think you need to relax and calm down kaira...these pre exam jitters are part and parcel of the ordeal...and we need to be able to fight them...cos i know the feeling of being nervous...and losing confidence...it keeps creeping up on me too every now and then and scares the crap out of me....so buddy!!...you are not alone in this...DONOT let this get to you...you can definitely do this!!!let me know if i can be of any help...take care..

Hello Kaira, I see you are going through a rough patch right now. Please dont be hard on yourself. I am sure you are doing your best and will do well in the exam. I passed step one with 86%. Thank you for all your support and encouragement.
