My husband and I have given Step1 and are planning to give Step2 in Jan2004. We live in Pakistan and from my friends i hear that US Embassy is not giving Visas for CSA to a lot of doctors because they(Embassy people) think that the doctors had loose associations and weak family ties in their homeland. What i want to know is that when me and my husband apply for visa for CSA, will they give it to a married couple? Ofcourse I cant Lie that i am unmarried or am leaving my husband here. Anybody have ideas regarding my problem.

Also, can anyone tell me about the couple match? Do we have to apply for it seperately. Will it be beneficial in getting residencies.

Any idea or tip will be appreciated.

From what residents have told me, you might have to show financial ties to your home country - like real estate, bank accounts, active medical practice, hospital or university status, etc. It's the belief that if you show that you have reason that you must return home, it makes getting visas a little easier.

Good luck

Pls,
Where can I find hospitals that sponsor the J-I visa.
Secondly is it possible to change your status later based on a relation filing for you.
Thanks,
JN.

Once you receive a J-1 visa, you cannot change the status until after residency and when you find an employer who will sponsor you for a waiver position. A family member cannot change your status.
