Somogyi - 3 AM hypoglycemia (and AM rebound hyperglycemia due to increase in counter-regulatory hormones)
Treat by reducing PM insulin dose

Dawn - 3 AM normoglycemia (and AM hyperglycemia due to decreased PM insulin dose)
Treat by increasing PM insulin dose

Waning - 3 AM hyperglycemia (and AM hyperglycemia due to decreased PM insulin dose)
Treat by increasing PM insulin dose
