This is hard problem. I first drew the pedigree and rewrote the pedigree as an inbreeding loop to answer the question. I got my answer but I am not sure.

Sam and Sue are expecting a child. Sam is the son of Jack and Selena, while Sue is the daughter of Selena and James (yes, Sam and Sue are half sibs). Jack is the son of Homer and Jill while James is the son of Jill and Harold.

a. Using the allele frequency of XP (1/250,000), what is the chance Sam and Sue’s child will have XP?

b. What is the ratio of XP among Sam and Sue’s child to that among the offspring of nonrelatives?

is it 25%

I want to ask !. Is it Xlinked as you said XP

2. Is anyone of them definitely has it (i.e. known)
