A?

Intrapleural pressure becomes more negative during inspiration...

Answer C. increasing lung compliance is something like emphysema. That would decrease recoil.
Answer B. increasing surfactant secretion would prevent lung collapse. but wouldnt make intrapleural pressure more negative.
Answer D. ??? increasing cardiac output doesnt necessarily mean increasing intrapleural pressure.

What's the correct answer?

I think it is D
If intrapleural preassure becomes more negative - the resistance of the vessels decreases - pulmonary vessels expand and volume of blood in the pulmonary system increases. It increases the cardiac output.

Intrapleural pressure becomes more negative when the chest is actively expanding. I think it has to be A.

I think its A

Because inspiration( increasing lung volume) will make intraplural pressure more negative.

Yeah A makes a lot more sense.
Inspiration causes the Pressure to go more negative
