we were always taught in our home country that plasmapheresis is useful in Immune thrombocytopenic purpura in children if non-responsive to steroids

but i see tht in cmdt and research now, they say it IS NOT USEFUL AND HENCE NOT INDICATED FOR ITP.

3 Good Pasteur's syndrome

5 Hyperviscosity syndrome due to excess immunoglobulin e.g. multiple myeloma, waldenstorm's macroglobulinemia

Plasmapharesis may be useful for cases unresponsive to immunoglobulin in kawasaki syndrone

- leucopharesis is indicated in caces of leucostasis in leukemias.
