i agree,reading kaplan after Lipincott makes u feel so much better,u do't despise it anymore.

Thanks for ur good wishes.
but i still have some pages left.a friend came in & we sat about 4 hours discussing q&doubts,i feel group study&discussion improve our understanding a great deal.
anyways,will be starting micro from jevetz soon.
maybe i did not get enough grasp of these biochemical pathways,may revise them now itself before moving further,one should not leave subject half satisfied.
maybe will do biochem q after that to know where i actually stand.

Hi there! I'm back in the forum after a long time. I took my step 1 last year and just missed passing. I moped for a while and decided that fate had given me a second chance to make it happen. However due to other problems could not get back to studying for the USMLE until now. Trying to make the most of the next couple of months before I have to go back to work.
My main source right now is the Kaplan lecture notes and doing Q bank everyday. I really want to belong to a group of motivated people so that I don't give up again.

drworm,it's great u have renewed ur spirits.u will do great.what i found is take the exam very seriously.put ur best,by best i mean really BEST.work hard,make aplan now,diving time to all subjects,the previous opinion of 3Ps imp. is outdated u can see anything on ur exam so be prepared for it.
also apply for orange card,else u will never get serious.hang on till u are done with it.it's tough but not that u can't do it.
infact everything is possible only if u have faith(this i must say is a big word.)
also u can start writing ur journal it keeps u on track.
GOOD LUCK IN UR PREP.THINK POSITIVE ALWAYS.
Ok.now going with javetz,listening to golgan(advise to all listening to him will help u more if u do it after ur first reading of all subjects,he links up various subject,that is the crux of step 1 being able to link all together.)
revising pharma at night.my speed is slow,i think,anyways let it take it's time.

going with the 3 things,micro,pharma &goljan audio.
things are becoming more clear in pharma on my second go.
Dr.Goljan is great.i feel the test has become more & more application based,maybe kaplan q-bank has q of that type with lots of graphs & slides etc.
GL TO ALL & PRAY FOR INCREASING MY SPEED,I SOMETIMES FEEL IT'S TAKING SO LOOOOONG.

hi all
i was able to download goljan audio from coolgoose,
i am taking step 1 in 4 weeks<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
i need some advice
i have studied pathology from kaplan notes once and now i am going through goljen pathology review (339 pages which includes the comprehensive examination in the end) i am done with general path and half of systemic
i am adding on extra things from goljen path review to kaplan notes(which will be my primary source of stuyding for step 1) and reading topics from review book which r not covered in kaplan notes
my plan is also to give a quick reading of FA in the last week
1)would this preparation be enough for pathology?
2)i saw a lot of posts here saying that gojen audio is a must to crack step 1
should listen to goljen audio ??? i heard its 37 hrs in total
if u pls reply i would appreciate it a lot

Hi nephron,
seems u have solved ur download problem.
goljan audio is the best.Dr.Goljan discusses concepts in an interrelated manner so to make the most of it u should have completed all subjects,for he discusses all side by side.
also he gives u a way of thinking-what may be called applied knowledge.
so,in short he is simply great.
if time is a problem then u can skip it,but that may not be in ur interest.
if u are not working u have ample time before ur step,just go for it & u will do great.

going with same schedule,i figured out that last pages of Jawetz are summary & test,so actually i have 300 pages left now.doesn't it sound great.it does to me.
