Frameshift is a deletion or insertion of base(s) that change the coding sequence. As long as the deletion or insertion is not the mulitiple of 3, there will be a frameshift mutation.

when deletion is in multiple of 3 ,it is called INFRAME mutation

example TAYSACS ds--4 base insertion cystic fibrosis--- 3 base delition ( which is not frame shift)
