You can go anytime you want. Everytime you will go you'll get a new I-94. Just tell tehm how long you want to stay and for what and mostly they do give you permission for the required amount of time. But whatever you get, dont over stay

but my problem is that i will be giving my step1 at the end of this month. due to personal reasons have to go to U.S immediately after that. now if they give me a stay of 6 months its fine cause ican take step2ck/cs and also if possible finish a few inteviews. but if i get a stay of only 1/2 months ihave to go back to give cs(or even if i finish cs in this 2 mon) atleast for the interviews. at that time thay might not permit me again cause one of my friend making a trip for a second time in 2 months was sent back from the airport even though he had 5yr multiple b1/b2. so i am not able to make a proper stratedgy. previously i was planning to go only in the month of october cause that way i could have done both cs and the interviews. but now due to unavoidable circumstances i have to go next month. if some body can help me plan the whole thing will really appreciate the help thanx
