Hi everyone Does anybody knows about the new step 2...i read from web site of ecfmg that step2 will going to consist of two separate components.Step 2 Clinical Skills, or Step 2 CS. The current Step 2 will be referred to as Step 2 Clinical Knowledge, or Step 2 CK. CSA will be administered until spring 2004,after that (as far as i understand) it is going to be step2 CS.The education requirements for Step 2 CS will be the same as those listed for the ECFMG CSA.Registration for Step 2 CS is expected to begin in early 2004.Fee is $1,200. Step 2 CS will be administered at several regional test centers in the United States. These locations are expected to be: Atlanta, Georgia; Chicago, Illinois; Houston, Texas; Los Angeles, California; and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.(unlike CSA)... I am waiting to hearing from you guys who are going to take step 2 like me in 2004... Good luck to everyone

I'm taking step2 in Jenuary as well, don't worry. the step2 =step2 CK and the CSA=step2 CS. So we don't have to worry too much about these changes.

I am not sure but i have heard that Step2 CS will not be exactly the same as CSA. Toefl will no longer be a requirement so in Step2 CS may be there will be Examiners who will ask Questions regarding some topics ( table viva kind of thing) to judge the Englis language. I am not sure of this change though as there are so many rumors going on in the library where i go.

I don't know but in my point of view, during the CSA exam they are checking your inglish as well. and as i've readen in 2004 information booklet, there is no other inquires for the step2 CS,other than inquires for the CSA.

That's why they omit toefl, the CSA(or step2CS) is direct contact with patients. taking pt-s history, you are taking inglish test yourself.(why it was before i dont understand)
