A 62-year-old man has been noticing progressive difficulty swallowing first solid food and now liquids as well. A barium study shows a ragged narrowing just below the carinal level. Endoscopic biopsy confirms squamous cell carcinoma. Which of the following statements concerning carcinoma of the esophagus is true?

even C is correct.....the male:female ratio is 7:1....

pls throw some light upon this

C is correct as well. D can also be correct. good luck, keep studying.


regarding C. the only moment when it´s indeed more common in women is in those areas with an elevated frequency of Plummer Vinson Sx which is more common in women; besides that, it´s more common in men.
