Hi, Im an IMG who is doing an observanship in psych. Im intrested in getting into psych residency, but I had an 196/80 on step 1. Im planning on taking step 2 on August. Does anybody know if I have a chance to get into residency with that score?? :?

Id say you have a chance but in psyche Id say you'll need strong and I mean strong communication skills. [Psych is kind of a separate entity but another niche in Medicine.]

my cousin just got into psychiatric residency in chicago
his step 1 sore was 82 and step 2 was 79

To ramtheman and ssrpk......did your cousin/brother have any USCE???
Have they already done any residency from their home country?
Did they do a Ph.D or Master program from a US University?
Thank you for the details....the information is quite useful to assess how scores matter.
