The Voltage gated K channels are completly closed during Plateau phase in the heart....
While in skeletal & smooth muscles???
congratulation for 1000 posts..... 8)

the voltage gated channels in heart are closed during plateau.
in case of others they say at rest.

  #7

I also think that......
Is plateaue occur in smooth muscles....???
Now this is confusing for me.....
Plz clear it....

voltage gated K channels-
skeletal muscle--> voltage gated K channel are closed during resting condition and are only open during repolarisation.
cardiac muscle--> they are open at resting conditions also but are closed during depolarisation and more than half of the plateu phase.
please correct if i am wrong

In cardiac muscle they are start to close during depolarization but completly closed during plateaue phase..... 8)

IN Cardiac muscle

-K+ channels remain open during resting stage
-start to close during depolarization
-gets completely closed during plateau phase
-and open up again during resting phase or subthreshold potential!

so answer is plateau!
