A patient on a particular medication complains of severe dizziness
His blood pressure in a supine position is 115/80 mmHg, on standing it drops to 82/50 mmHg.

Which of the following drugs is most likely responsible for these symptoms ?

A. carbamazepine
B. Chlopromazine
C. Chlordiazepoxide

hey guyz! wht is the mechanism of orthostatic hypotensioin! alpha-1 blockade!

except for alpha blockers remember there are other classes of drugs tht can block alpha receptors:
- antipsychotics
- antihistaminics
- antidepressants

chlorpromazine belongs to phenothiazine group [antipsychotic]

answer is b!

btw same classes of drugs hold true for muscarinic blockade!
