Difference between hemosiderosis and hemochromatosis ?

Hemochromatosis assoc. with HLAA3 iron deposits in parenchymal tissue

Hemosiderosis iron deposits in mononuclear phagocytic system,this is more common in pts with hemolytic anemia (thalassemia) and transfusions,usually no organ dysfunction in this one

local hemosiderosis:most often result from hemorrhage into tissue

systemic hemosiderosis:may result from hemorrhage,multipl blood tx,hemolysis,excessive dietary intake of FE,often accompanied by alcohol consupmtion..its without organ or tissue damage

hemochromatosis:damage to many tissue..manifested as hepatic cirrhosis,fibrosis of pancreas(bronze dm)increasde melanin pigmentation of skin...there is more extensive acccumulation than hemosiderosis..most often hereditery
