Kaplan Qbank USMLE

I am a so-average guy. But I got my score 233/94. I believe everyone can make it if you do something right for preparation.

I didn't work hard. Read kaplan twice. 17 days before exam NBME first test only got 420. 3 days before exam usmle CD is 79%. But I did the thing that even myself can't believe it. Because I rarely saw the experience posted on this board who can improve that lot in such a short period. I even thought to cancel the exam.

Thanks God. Keep praying, God will bless everyone.

My only valuable experience is Qbank. Do it in the last month. In exam at least 20 qs are familiar to me. I don't have time to repeat all the wrong qs in qbank. I left 300 wrong qs behind without reading explation thoroughly. If I had 3 more days, I would get higher score. By the way my accumulative qbank score is 63%. Lowest 46, highest 76.

So believe in yourself, thanks god, you will make it.

233/94 on 3/31/2005.

NBME 17 days before exam: 420.
USMLE CD 3 days before: 79%.
read kaplan only twice.
qbank: 63%. (46%-76%).

Kaplan is my major materials. I did buy many books based on other peoples' exprience. But never got time to read them. So sticking to kaplan is the key. Qbank is my secret weapon.

Thank you, God.

I forgot to mention first aid. The 2005 edition is much better than 2004. I read it 3 times in the last month when doing qbank. It is a must, too.

Hi daner90007
I want to ask some qs from you. Please answer whenever you get time :
1) What makes you an average guy ?
2) Two readings of kap notes + qbank+FA ..still why you are saying that you didn't work hard ???
3) What will you tell future exam taker..in regard what you know now would be better if you knew it before ...in other words ..mistakes during your prep ?
I think,I asked many qs 8) I will appreciate your time
Thanks in advance.

Hi JS;

Tough questions. I can't say I am better than average because of the good score. That's why I classify me as average.

First, old graduate, second english so-so, then no time studying because of full-time job. Don't all of the factors make you think you are average?

Comparing all the experiences of 90-more-guys on this board, do you think 2 times reading means working hard? 300 qs being left behind means working hard? So I will say don't be frustrated by all other peoples' posts, especially those 99 guys. Give me some examples on this board who read less than 3 times and got 99. It is hard to find.

Given all the time and energy I put in the exam, I can't say I felt regretted for all of my preparation. I would say my preparation is so efficient, especially the last 17 days after I did first set of NBME. I improved myself more than 20%. So in the last month, I think 3 times first aid and 2100 qs from qbank will be powerful enough to move you up to 90.

Last I will thank all the encouragement I got from the board, not those 99 guys. They can tell you good advice, but their experience will lessen your confidence. Be self-confident, do everything that most suitable for yourself.
