i took the step 1 exam on march 15th and oasis hasn't been updated.. and the waiting of previous two weeks is killing me and i have to continue the unbearable waiting.
mine nbme score is 470 one week b4 the exam.
i am just wondering if there are cases who had the nbme score within this range somehow flunk the exam??
please reply..
thank you and need advice on how to reduce this anxiety.

I’m wondering if this happens to anyone who is an international medical student. After waiting for 4 weeks for score report to be updated. I wrote a letter to ECFMG in which they replied that they had sent a letter confirming my status to my school directly. Only when they receive the confirmation from the school then my score will be released. This is truly insane!! Then what’s the point of submitting form 183 for? Does any other ims experience the same situation as I do? Or am I just the only one??

I'm an IMG too, and I know that at least 5 of my collegues got their result before ECFMG confirmed the status with the medical school, so keep calling them and speak with somebody in charge, not the first person that answers.

yeah, it is very complicated for the verification, in my case, i have had the scheduling permit, i did make an exam date with prometric center, but later they told me that i status is need to be re-evaluated, and they cancel the permit
I had to wait for more than 2 months for the new permit.
In the case that i made an exam immediately before the cancelled my first permit, so i would have the same condition as yours.
So i think you have to wait them, good luck

But I know some of my friends got it without the verification. One of them actually took step 2 to use it for Canada, and I know for sure that he got the score before, because there was a problem with the papers at the medical school and he had to do it again after the score.

can u say me how long since u had applied for step 1. Im waiting for my results and my credentials too not verified yet. atleast I will stop waiting for the results. I just came to know that one of my friend had similar problem and got his report after 2 months. Guys if any of you got your score reports without your credentials being verified please share with us. Thanks!

as for creditionals check, i dont need to do that yet b/c i haven't graduated from med school. but they re-check my student status by sending the confirmation letter to my school.. and that is the part i'm waiting for here.

I had the same experience transcriptio... I took my step 1 in Asia sometime in Oct 2004. I was waiting for almost 2 months for them to update my score report in OASIS when I found out that although my score was ready, they won't release it until my credentials were verified! That really sucks because they didn't even explain that in their manuals nor did they send me a letter soon enough! I was so nervous waiting for my result, I cannot concentrate studying for my step 2 that was scheduled in Dec. Finally, my credentials were verified, and they released my score. I received step 1 results second week of Jan 2005! Can you believe this luck?!!! Anyway, it turned out all for a good cause...cause I passed with good grades! I had no problems with my step 2, thank God!

I wish that ecfmg could have told us sooner about this matter to reduce the anxiety of waiting. u r absolutely right!! it's really really hard to concentrate right now no knowing the results.. i was expecting that i could do oasis trick last week and now w/ this, god knows how many more wks i gotta wait for it..

it's been 6th week since i took step 1 and oasis hasn't been updated.. so today out of blue i just tried the trick anyway.. i was expecting that it would let me re-register b/c there is no score updated. however, it showed in 'red' that i have already registered and blahblahblah.. it didn't show anything like you have passed, etc.. as well it didn't let me re-register...
so what does that mean?? does anyone experience the same thing b4 score update??

the red screen doesn't say that i passed.. instead the following message displayed " Our records indicate that you are already registered for this Step or Step Component. You may not apply for a Step or Step Component if you are already registered for that Step or Step Component. " .. i am feeling very confused here b/c the score report is n't updated and at the same time it doesn't let me register again for step1. normally, u should be able to register if score isn't updated, is it?
i know definitley my score is ready (been 6 wks of waiting).. but they wont release my score until creditial verification.
