67 y/o asymptomatic male with HTN on water pill comes fr annual checkup..bruit+ on rt carotid. USG duplex shows 65% irregular lesion on rt CCA bifurcation and 40% on left..wats the next step
1 aspirin
2 heparin
3b/l Carotid Endarterectomy
4rt carotid endarterectomy
5 lt carotid surgery

Great! cud anyone of u describe the criteria for enartectomy(what % blockage).Thnaks :|

60-99%-indication for endarectectomy.

100%is contraindication for surgery

-- pt is symptomatic and obstruction is 70-99%
--asymptomatic pt and 60-99% obstruction
