what is indications to safely wean off patient from ventilator?

(1) Underlying pathologic process has been resolved or at least improved;
(2) Pt has satisfied and stable vital signs and ABG while using the IMV, SIMV, or PS modes. These modes facilitate weaning. These modes require pt has spontaneously breathing.
(3) Continue watch vital signs and ABG after weaning.

there are some specific changes made in ventilator settings(eg FIO2 .21)and iif patient still remain stable then u can wean off .but i dont know exactly what changes?? :?:
