Can anyone explaing Brocas aphasia in detail!!

broca's aphasia:-

lesion in the area 44,45 of brodmann's.

**also known as EXPRESSIVE APHASIA.

**can understand the written and spoken language well but CANNOT EXPRESS WELL.

**the pt is WELL KNOWN about the condition and is distressed.

**AGRAPHIA is also present.

**usually CONTRALATERAL PARALYSIS OF LOWER FACE is seen.

**if the lesion is larger then CONTRALATERAL PARALYSIS OF UPPERLIMB is also seen.

1)Also callled motor aphasia

2)effortful or dysarthric speech

3)telegraphic or non fluent speech

4)poor repitition.

5)The agraphia part is brand new to me!

all aphasia are usually asso. with agraphia!!!
