Hello, Does anyone here have a good understanding of the stat tests? the way Kaplan has it written: we use Analysis of Variance (1 nominal, 1 interval), Chi Square (2 nominals), Matched Pairs T-Test (1 nominal, 1 interval), Polled T-Test (1 nominal (2 groups), 1 interval), Pearson Correlation Coef (2 interval)....What does NOMINAL and INTERVAL mean? I don't have a clear understanding of the definition that they give. Please HELP! THANK YOU!!!

Interval- means quantifying something, giving it a particular #, for example height , b.p. or drug dose Nominal can be anything! This , that, those, almost any subject. Hope this helps.

Just few more inputs Nominal value can be considered as name, group, category eg: the black & white population; male & female sex; young & old population; patients receive drug versus patients receive placebo in a study etc
