Hi guys:

1/. How well do you ususally need to prepare for the step 2 before you take step 1? Like go through Kaplan note step 2 once or twice and do some Qs

2/. How many months do you usually take to prepare step 2 right after step 1?

I prepared for 2 months and read Kaplan 3 times. This was while working full time in research (although I did Kaplan Q bank during the day in my down moments). I did take the final week before my exam off to study all day long. I felt very rushed, and was unsure if I should take my exam after studying so little or not. But I did quite well.

I took 2 months break between step I and starting to study for step II, although I shouldn't have. It's hard to study when you are worried about passing your step I. After you get your score, you tend to celebrate a bit before it hits you that there is still another exam.
