Dear friends,
I have found many useful answers reading the last posts on this forum and I hope that you will help me again with a piece of advice.
I intend to participate in the 2004 match and need an H1 visa, but I am not ecfmg certified yet for applying to step 3. (I will take the csa at the end of October ). Do you know when is the deadline for taking the step 3 (and having the results) in order to be eligible for an H1 visa? Is there any chance that the programs let applicants to take the step 3 about the match time or after, yet before starting the program?
Thank you,
Simona

Different programs will have different requirements on when to have your step 3 in and your ECFMG certification.

There is no easy method except to contact the programs, or visit their web pages, to learn this information.

Good luck

Dear Bbb,

I am very grateful to you for answering me and I think that words don’t come enough expressively to thank you for the generous help you are giving to us.
As you suggested, I consulted some programs’ web pages and I found that they have different requirements regarding the step 3, but generally they don’t state exactly the time to take this exam in order to be eligible for an H1 visa. Maybe I should contact them to find the specific details or ask them at the time of the interviews.
Thank you again for your valuable help and best wishes straight from the heart,
Simona
