Hi mate Just a quick Q I am presently working as a junior resident in UK....I am about to finish with my steps! Do you happen to know the criteria to get into a surgical program over there? How difficult it is to get a good hospital? Regards

there are some issues that if you have them make you have a better possibility to get a good hospital: high scores in the steps, to be a US citizen or a permanent resident, to have clinical experience in USA, research experience, recommendation letters and also to have step 3 passed is a bonus. About criteria: ECFMG certificate, 2 or 3 letters of recommendation (depends on the hospital), and some hospitals ask you for scores >210 or >220 or some donīt care the score. Thatīs what I know, you can investigate for specific criteria in webpages of the hospitals youīre interested. I also want to be a surgeon, Iīve passed step 1, and Iīm going to take step 2 CK in october.
