HI BBB:
You did reply to my query before and I am encouraged to ask you one more very important thing... please correct me if I am wrong. I am thinking of applying to ECFMG for J1, they take 4-6 weeks to issue the eligibility document i.e. DS-2019 and then I have to get the visa processed in my own country before I come back here and start my residency... what if I apply for the DS-2019 and by the time they send me the document I will be done with my step 3 and I will have my score... if I pass (which I hope I do but I am scared)... I pursue H1 and cancel/withdraw the DS-2019 and if I dont... I go back for J1 visa stamp?? I hope I make sense here! Please do reply!

Check with the program that you will be working for. Find out when they want you to have the results of your step 3 so you can apply for a visa.
Their bottom line will be your direction as they will need you to be in the hospital on July 1 to take care of patients.

Well, they just say that they are flexible and that they know that visa processing takes times... but I guess I should ask them specifically. However, they dont have a deadline for step 3 score. I would prefer to join on July 1 as I dont want to be late either. I guess TIME is the issue here!! well, I am taking my exam in 8 days and I am still waiting on that Health Ministry letter from my country... I guess I should apply for DS-2019... do guide me if you think that I am being irrational or impractical... I wish I had more confidence in me regarding step 3 prep, but you never know with these exams... but if I wait till my score comes out... it will be too late for anything else!!
