guys i took nbme 1 today on 18 april.
got 480 which corresponds to 214 i,e, final score of 87
with this score ,am i likely to get calls for interviews for fields such as obgyn in ok places and family pracrice in good places?
i have good clinical experience in obgyn having completed my MD from india.....so i might do well in interview(yet to take step 2)
please respond as my final is on 27 april..................
anxiously awaiting responses.......

there is a specific formula to calculate your score and and your chance of success.
(3digit score/ nbme score)+age in yearsx number of nostrils-fingers still on hand- years post MBBS-spouses (raised to the power of two)+number of attempts in XII in India.
yours loooks like......hmmm.....73.654 % chance to land a OB position.

NBME is a rough guide but you need to take your real exam and see how much u socre there and then only you can think of match but again with one setp 1 score it will be toooooooooooooooo premature! I hope you get the point.

OB-GYN is not easy to get. Keep studying and you should be able to get above an 87 by your test date. I won't lie to you, OB-GYN is tough. You have your MD from India, but at most programs that won't count for much. Do you have US Clinical Experience? That is more important. That having been said, most IMGs in OBG in the US I know did their residency first in their own country. You should be fine for FP.

thans a lot retroviridae for telling me like it is .
afraid i do not have any us clinical experience to boast of.....but i was thinking of looking for observership after my step 1 .
that too might not be easy to get .....
but i think you are rigt ...i should just study hard and try to get a good score.....will keep u posted about my final score....
