1)tyrosinase uses copper It converts tyrosine to dopa (to eventually form melanin) 2)Also lysyl hydroxylase uses copper to form the cross links between the aldehydes of lysine 3)dopamine B hydroxylase uses copper and vitamin C in catecholamine synthesis(NE)

Lysyl oxidase requires copper (not lysine hydroxylase) as cofactor to form cross links def of which causes Menkes disease. Lysine hydroxylase & proline hydroxylase req Vit c def of which cause scurvy

cu is a cofactor for 1)FERROXIDASE-bind Fe to transferrin -in def lead to anaemia 2)Lysyl oxidase-for crosslinking of collagen- in def leads to abnormal collagen,Arterial tourtuosity &rupture &osteoporosis 3)cytochrome oxidase-a com of ETC-IN DEF lead to cerebral degenertion(brain req ATP) 4)tyrosinase-enz for melanin sys-in def lead to depigmentation 5)also in superoxide dismutase
